Photos Management Tutorial: Adding photos, slideshows/galleries, watermarking photos

Upload Photos For Your Website

Adding Photos to your website, Ultimate Web Builder

Upload photos to your website using the Photos > Add Photo tab.  Choose either a Photo Category to add the photo(s) to, or a page.  To create a photo category first, use the Photos > Add Category tab.  Photos that are added to a Photo Category are used for the Photo section of a page, and also for photo galleries/slideshows (see below).  Photos that are added to a page (called Inline Photos) may be added to the text section of a page on the add/edit page - they are listed on the left side column of the text editor section (see below).

Watermark Photos

Adding watermark to your photos, Ultimate Web Builder

You can add a watermark directly to your photo(s) on the Add/Edit Photo pages.  Choose the watermark transparency percentage and the watermark position on the photo(s).  You can Batch Watermark photos on the Add Photo page when using the Batch Upload button, and also on the List Photo pages.

Upload watermarks using the Photos > Add Watermark tab.  You can manage watermarks under the Photos > List Watermarks tab. In order to use the watermarking feature on the List Photos pages, you will need to upload your watermark first. When watrmarking from the Add/Edit Photo pages, you can upload your watermark on that same page directly, and it will be added to your list of watermarks if you have checkmarked the "Save watermark in Admin Panel" option.

You can also Revert to your unwatermarked images from the List Photos pages and Edit Photo page if you have checkmarked the "Save original image in Admin Panel" option when watermarking.  Original, unwatermarked images are saved in a special restricted access folder unaccessible from the Internet. So you can have the flexibility of having your original unwatermarked images saved in the Admin Panel, and not worry about having them be accessibl or downloadable on the Internet. Also, the process that is used to watermark the photos does not allow website visitors to track down the unwatermarked image, separating the watermark from the photo- watermarking is not done "on the fly" as the web visitor loads a webpage.

Adding Text And Inline Photos To Your Pages

Ultimate Web Builder - Adding Content

Use the easy text editor for adding text and inline photos to your page. You can add a table to the editor box to add more format stylings. Use the Insert image icon on the text editor box to add an image by inputting its URL. Or add photos from the left side column of the editor box - all the photos with an "Active" status that you have uploaded to your website and attached to this page will appear here - click on the photo you want and it will copy the full sized image to your clipboard provided your browser security settings allow it; then paste it into the editor box by pressing CTRL-V or using the editor box paste icon button.  If your browser security settings does not allow this copy to clipboard feature, right click on the image you want, click inside the editor box where you want to insert the photo, and choose "Copy Shortcut"; then click on the Insert Image editor icon button and paste that URL into the appropriate field.

The insert Image icon is also the edit image icon - click on a photo you want to edit and then click on the edit image icon - it should already be highlighted after you click on the photo.  You can edit title/description tags for the image (good for Search Engine Optimization), resize, and further style the image from the edit image pop-up.  Adding images from the left side column copy/paste method automatically adds the image tags for you.

Adding Photos / Slideshows / Photo Galleries To Page Photo Section

Configure Slideshow

To add a photo or photos slideshow to your Page Photo Section, first you need to create a Photo Category for it.  Go to Photos > Add Category, fill in the form and then click the "Add Category" button at the bottom.  Using this form you can configure the properties of the photo section / slideshow - you can even configure it to not be a slideshow if you want.  Choose to have thumbnails or not, the size of the thumbnails, thumbnail rows or thumbnail columns, the number of rows or columns to display the thumbnails in, to display captions or not, the type of slideshow, auto-play on or off, and lots more properties.

You can add sports photos from the Gym Chat Sports Network directly on the Add/Edit Category form by entering the Gym Chat code for the group of photos in the provided text field box.

Look for the icon on Gym Chat for the Code.  Filling in the Gym Chat Code will make the category use the selected group of Gym Chat photos identified by the Code dynamically - i.e. updates made on Gym Chat for the selected group will be automatically reflected here. Gym Chat sports photos are automatically linked to their corresponding Gym Chat photo page, where users may read/post comments and get more info.

After creating your Photo Category, if you are not using the Gym Chat Sports Photos option, you will want to add photos to the category from your computer.  Go to the Photos > Add Photo tab, fill in the form, choosing to add to the Category you created, and either click the "Add Photo" or "Batch Upload" button at the bottom.  If you want to do a Batch Upload to upload more than one photo to the category easily and fast and/or to automatically resize your photo(s) to be web ready, then don't fill in the Photo File field.  You will select the photo file(s) in the Batch Upload form.

Multiple Photo Slideshows/Categories On A Page

You can have multiple slideshows/categories attached to each page and displayed as thumbnails/links in a row or column for the web visitor to click to load.  You can choose to display the row of thumbnails/links under the header or above the footer; or choose to display the column of thumbnails/links on the left or right side column - also choose the styling & sizing.  You can set all these configurations from you Add Page / Edit Page sections, towards the bottom. This section also includes options for displaying Same Level Page Links and Sub Level Page Links, besides Page Photo Category Links. The row/column style is a scroller - if the contents is greater than the Scroller Area, the user may use their mouse over the ends to "scroll" through the content (no scrollbars).
